This is one of those cross-over projects. Is it a laser project or a woodworking project? It’s both! The wood is tiger maple finished dyed and finished with several coats of gunstock finishing oil. The pinwheel is hand carved and the “Heart of the Barn” logo of the Northford Timber Framers is inlay with many tiny pieces. Signs like this are a challenge to make but their warmth and appeal makes them almost irresistible to touch.
The latest revision is the Lynes sign:
The lynes sign has a curly birch lettering and a larger fan enlay. It has a rosewood heart with maple timbers. This sign has a unique bartop finish which I have never done before. it will be interesting to see how it holds up compared to other signs.
